In Need of a FriendYou may have heard of him, you may not have.
He is the Invisible Ninja.
Those who know of him fear his name;
Those who know not of him have no idea why.
But I can tell you this:
He is fearful,
But he is not one to be afraid of.
He was not always the Invisible Ninja,
But only the Invisible.
But being born invisible,
One can imagine how lonely he was.
And what better thing to do
Than become a ninja
And make fun of surprising others!
How do I know so much about him,
The great, fearful Invisible Ninja?
I, myself, and one
And he is my father.
But having a normal human for a mother,
I am not always invisible;
I can change at my own will,
But my father cannot.
Now I know he has tried
To attack me and my friend,
But he has no other way to pass the time,
For he has never had a friend of his own.
So if you ever hear him,
Let him know you're not afraid.
If you ever see him,
Then you must have invisibility powers as well.
But if you ever see or hear him,
Be a friend to him;
For he has neve
TitleThe term "teenager" has lost its meaning
And has become a title
Given to people within a certain age
It is a title
That comes with so many stereotypes
That adults dread saying the word
When one hears that you're a teenager
They groan in understanding
Of what you are
But they miss
Who you are
I am not a teenager
I am an adolescent
Changing from a grown child to a young adult
Waiting and wanting
To take my place in the world
That waits for me
I do not cuss
I do not litter
I do not abuse what is not mine
I am respectful of every-one and every-thing around me
I study hard and do my schoolwork
I want to pursue a long-term career
After a long-term study
I am committed to something
That "'teenagers' cannot commit to"
I do not listen to rap
Or rock or metal
Nor do I even know the name
Of a single band
That "teenagers" listen to
I have my own style
That both fits in with the adult world
And represents me
This is who I am
Do not give me a title
My parents give me a name
I Love YouYou mean so much to me.
Whenever I think about you, your smile shines through my heart;
Whenever I see you, you fill my day with joy;
And I feel loved.
You make me laugh, you make me smile,
You give me hope, you make me cry;
You make me dream.
I cannot describe how I feel when I am around you,
How my day changes when I see you.
When I think of you, I smile,
Thinking of the next time I'll see you.
And maybe a day like today,
I'll shed a tear or two
Because you mean so much to me
And I love you.
5 Minute Poem - HyperboleHyperbole: I'm so _____ that...
I'm so strong that Superman got second place at the worldwide weight-lifting competition compared to me; so buff that he looks like a stick person.
a dangerous hallucinationThe light coming through the window was bright,
much too bright.
Even though my eyes were closed
I could see it-
The skin of my arms prickled,
sweat dripped from my brow.
It was two in the afternoon but…
the sun was setting
through the window facing east.
I should have seen the hutch,
shelves lined with bone china
decorated with delicate leaves and vines.
I was so thirsty
and reaching for cups that should have been there.
Instead I found a billboard of butterflies,
the colors raging
more than any rainbow
I'd ever seen.
Their wings fluttered and flashed
yet somehow they moved in slow motion.
I wanted to stand,
wanted to reach out and touch them but…
I couldn't move,
and yet I laughed
ignoring my dry mouth
and the tingling in my feet.
There was a tempest
on the rise
and in my blood.
A sugar rush disguised
as a riot of butterflies
and they were swarming me.
There was a small vial
of insulin in my pocket
that I nev
